End of an era

"16 years, hundreds of shows, thousands of ballet slippers and a lifelong love of dance...we share with you Mr. Curran's final bow just moments ago at the Sydney Opera House." Nicole Lovelock, The Australian Ballet.

Firebird rehearsals

It was my privilege to shoot The Australian Ballet dancers in rehearsal with Graeme Murphy and Janet Vernon. The choreographic process always fascinates me, even more so when I get the chance to watch a master at work.

The Australian Ballet's Firebird costumes

I've been recording the progress of the Firebird costumes, designed by Leon Krasenstein, at the Australian Ballet. It's amazing to watch this process of painstaking detail which eventually make the characters come to life.
